Flagstones & Dimensional Pavers

FLAGSTONES

Flagstone is a flat, randomly shaped stone commonly used for paving patios, walkways, driveways, or as garden step stones. Irregular shapes and sizes make for a rustic, natural appearance. Flagstones are generally available in two thicknesses: the thicker (1½” to 2”) is suitable for sand-set applications and the thinner (¾” to 1”) is usually set in mortar over a concrete pad.

Our flagstone options range in color and texture, and consist of stone such as Pennsylvania Bluestone, Quartzite, Argillite, Limestone and Slate. Bluestone contains a mixture of blue, green, gray, brown and lilac colors, with striations of gold and purple. Argillite Slate is quarried in western Montana and shows a mixture of purple, red, blue, turquoise, and green shades.

Quartzite Flagstone is extremely hard and durable and comes in colors of silver, gold, limelight green, and charcoal. With a high Mica content, Quartzite flagstone surfaces are especially striking at night as it refracts light to illuminate the area with a subtle glow. Limestone, Sandstone and Slate flagstones are imported from India. Rich in colors and smooth surface textures, they offer an array of new design options for our Northwest patios. These flagstones can be viewed at here.

DIMENSIONAL PAVERS

Our natural stone pavers are squares and rectangles cut to various dimensions. Bluestone pavers come in 1/2″, 1″ and 2″ thicknesses, and range in size from 12″ x 12″ up to 24″ x 36″. Our limestone and slate pavers  also come in a wide variety of colors and sizes. Pavers less than 1″ thick are best suited from mortar-set applications, while thicker pavers are generally set in sand. Joint are filled with sand, 1/4″ minus crushed aggregate, or polymeric sand.
